Happy 2013 everyone!

I've been quite absent the past month. There's been a lot going on in my life, and, of course, the holidays get in the way from regular blogging. I have a bunch of interesting posts planned, beauty and fashion related, so be sure to follow to stay updated.

I've been sick with a cold the past week so my New Year festivities involved me staying at home with my husband, who was also sick, watching movies and TV shows on Netflix so expect a bunch of movie and TV recommendations at the end of the month in my favorites post.

However, I did have a lot of fun over the holiday break. I spent time with Craig's family, which is always great. Also, my bestie bought me tickets to a Marina & the Diamonds concert (!!!). It was super fun. Marina is an amazing performer with top notch stage presence and stellar vocals. Plus, she's freakin' adorable, and she had all kinds of props. Ahh, I'm even more in love with her! (Picture to the left is at the concert.)
This week I'm going to be catching up with some loose ends from 2012 such as my Birchbox 2012, my favorite Birchbox samples from 2012, and possibly some other "favorites" from 2012. I'm thinking favorite thrifted pieces or favorite beauty products or nail polishes. I don't know. What do you think?

As for New Year's resolutions, I have some goals. I spoke about this a bit last year, I think. I feel that "resolutions" has a bad connotation with so much pressure attached. I like to call them New Year Goals, I suppose.
  • Keep a clean and (somewhat) organized apartment
  • Donate unnecessary items and clothing
  • Continue to work on my mental health and a positive outlook on my body, life, and relationships
  • Work on my art!
  • Generally stress less about the small things
  • Save money and get a monthly budget in place
  • Continue to work on my blog
  • Upgrade some of my crappy furniture
I'm planning on doing a lot of new things this year. I have a part in my university's production of The Vagina Monologues. I've never done anything like this before so I'm really looking forward to the change it will have within me and the new friendships I will make.

I'm also graduating in May, and I'll be looking for a full time job. I'm quite nervous about this, but, as I said in my goals, I want to stress less about it and stay positive and grateful for my college experience.

What are your 2013 goals? Also, is there anything you'd like to see more of or something different in my blog this year? Leave a comment with your goals and suggestions. I love hearing from my readers.

  1. Your goal list is almost exactly like mine! I'm not an artist, but I'd like to get into crafting of sorts.

The hardest part will be budgeting and saving money. So far, I have three times the amount in my savings than I ended with in December and it's killing me to not touch it.
